Laureato in Medicina e Chirurgia nel 1986 presso l’Ateneo di Bologna, dove nel 1989 ha conseguito la specialità di Odontostomatologia.
Socio Attivo della Società Italiana di Parodontologia, ha svolto l’incarico di Segretario Nazionale, di Tesoriere, di Vicepresidente e di Presidente della SIdP.
Autore dei testi multimediali Quintessenza Vol. I Terapia Implantare: il Piano di Trattamento Integrato e Vol. II Terapia Protesica in Implantologia: Il Piano di Trattamento Integrato, oltre che di numerosi articoli di carattere scientifico, ha tenuto conferenze nell’ambito di Congressi nazionali e internazionali.
Ricopre l’incarico di revisore per la rivista The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.
Professore di Parodontologia presso l’Università Politecnica delle Marche, Presidente e Direttore Sanitario della Clinica Merli, Direttore Scientifico dell’Accademia Dento-Facciale, svolge l’attività libero professionale nella Clinica fondata dal padre Mario assieme ai fratelli Monica ed Aldo.
